After finding no reliable source to tell the public what different webcomics are like to allow them to find one that will engage them day to day, he assumed the identity of WebcomicWalrus to tell people which ones are teh funneh.

Not an excuse to talk about Mega Man

Okay, I SWEAR I had a different topic lined up for today, but the link on Bob and George I saw today made me rethink my entry.

A descendant of sprite comics, hand drawn Mega Man comics seem to be coming out as a genre of their own, and for several good reasons. The first is the same reason why there are so many sprite comics in the first place, a large cast of widely known and seemingly defined charecters. All you need is a decent story and slight specifics on what you think the charecters are like. You have to admit it's an attractive setup. Now the reasons to switch over to drawing is almost as attractive.

More Characters - The Mega Man series has spanned upwards of 4 different consoles, unless you have an appalling discretion when choosing your sprites or a talent for creating custom sprites, there's no possible way to put every single character into a sprite comic. A favorite of most artists seem to be Terra and the StarDroids.

An actual style
- When you're trying to establish yourself, a unique style is heinously useful. Sprites don't offer that much in the way of the, unless you 've got a Magic Pixie Stick, then you're out of luck. Hehehe... Magic Pixie Stick....

Flexibility -
They can move and Jump and Flow with Freedom. That's pretty cool.

At this point I think I'm kind of streching myself, so I'm just going to give you guys the links to a couple good ones and call it a night.

Stage Select - Centers around Bass and the Robot Masters, kinda perverted, kinda loco, but very funny.

StarDroids - Hops around all the different series(X, classic, etc.) with different storylines, Hilarious and cool, sometimes at the same time.

That's Good, Good Night.
